Happy Easter!

Happy Easter by richila9098

This morning, Dar'mate and I attended Sunrise Service. There were 35 Alleluias in the hymns we sang. Alleluias are especially fun after going through Lent and not singing any.

After the Early Service, we had breakfast and then it was time for my favorite part. I helped prepare the flowers for the Flowering of the Cross. Families of the church bring bouquets of flowers that we attach to florist picks. Then, everyone gets a chance to place flowers on the Cross.

I had hoped to help cut flowers this morning, but in the rush to get to Service, we forgot my scissors. I still got to help and we even made a flower grouping that was just my size for the Cross. Dar'mate ended up having to place it for me; I was too small to reach the cross and we were worried some of the childeren would step on me.

The pink egg was in one of the bouquets; we gave it to Miss Mayra's daughter.

Dar'mate and I both wore orange dresses for Easter. It is fun to wear coordinated clothes, sometimes. I am glad that we both look good in the same colors.

We are home now and the prparations for Easter dinner have already started. The big people here are having lamb, but I am afraid to guess what we dolls are having. Last year, we had pasta and salad. The girls all helped cook and it was the only thing we could agree on; six women in the kitchen are five too many.

The boys are cooking this year. They have been very secretive and we fear that we are having hamburgers, pizza or both. Maybe, I should pack all the girls Bento boxes, just in case.

Egg hunting and Easter

Egg hunting by richila9098

Yesterday, Dar'mate and I went to a park with doll friends for an Easter Egg Hunt. It was a week early, but next week we will be busy with activities at church.

This is Holy Week and we have choir practice on Wednesday; Maundy Thursday Service on Thursday-the choir is singing; Friday is Stations of the Cross from 12 to 3 and Good Friday Service in the evening.

On Easter Sunday, we go to Sunrise Service, have Easter Breakfast at church and then I will help Dar'mate prepare flowers for the Flowering of the Cross. We have a special cross that we cover with flowers for Easter to represent the Resurrection of Our Lord. It is very beautiful and my favorite part of the Easter celebration. After that, we stay until the choir sings because we are all choir members.members.

I became an honorary member of the choir last year at the choir retreat. I am not very loud, but I really enjoy singing. It is another thing that Dar'mate and i enjoy doing together.

Kiki on Kiki's corner tagged me. http://all4dolls.blogspot.com/
I am to tell 7 things about some one I know well and tag 7 more.
Since Kiki talked about her Tia, I will tell you about Dar'mate.

1. Dar'mate was named by Mstya. He said we were all too old to call her Mama. According to Mstya, it means dear little mother.
2. Before resin bjds, she collected Hittys.
3. Dar'mate was very active in the SCA for about 20 years; she met her husband there and is a Duchess in the kingdom of Ansteorra.
4. She has played all of the Pokemon games and is the proud owner of a DSiXL.
5.Dar'mate loves dolls, especially me, tiny sewing and photography. She never leaves home without a doll, her camera and a tiny sewing kit.
6. She has taught school for over 20 years-and loves it!
7.Dar'mate's locks were once waist length, but she cute them because they were too heavy and gave her headaches. These days she keeps them around shoulder length.

She was shivering outside of the school building this morning. I don't have a name for her yet. Hopefully, she will like being a classroom cat. I think she would be a good companion for the times that Dar'mate is too busy to spend time with me at school.

New Hat

Today Dar'mate took me to a doll meet. It was with DFW Resin Dreams and we had a knit and crochet class for doll clothing in a local library. The members showed off their crochet and knitting work for dolls and gave away yarn, crochet hooks and patterns to library patrons. One member even taught a mini crochet class.

Overnight, the weather had changed from bright, sunny and warm to cool and rainy. Dar'mate had already made the shrug for me, and I was very happy to wear it with my leggings. Today she learned to crochet a hat. I really like it and it kept my hair dry even though it was drizzling when we headed home.

It was a lot of fun chatting with the other dolls while our people worked on beautiful things for us. We all agreed that we were very lucky dolls.

Watching the train

Today I learned an important lesson. Whiny dolls get left in the bag until lunch time if there isn't time to change their clothing. Complaining on the blog did get some springtime dresses pulled out, but I only had half a day to show off my pretty dress at school.

After school today, Dar'mate and I took some time to read about her new camera and try it out. At first, I didn't want my picture taken. But, when she offered me new places to pose in the car, I was quite willing. I had never gotten to sit in the open window before and i enjoyed all the things I could see from that position.

This is my favorite picture we took this afternoon. I enjoyed watching the train go by. I think it would be quite exciting to ride one someday. I would really enjoy having my picture taken while riding on the train.

I will get to go to the Dollakon convention in June. Maybe I will have a chance to ride a train then.

Dar'mate got a new camera

So, of course, I am the subject of most of her pictures. I can't say I mind and at least she didn't shine a flash in my face while writing. Cordette stayed home with Gi yesterday and this morning he asked me to leave her toy where he could find it. Hmm, I guess he will take a kitty play break from his work today.

It seems strange to be wearing the same outfit more than one day in a row, but this dress is so comfortable and cool. Only my wools and velvet suits are unpacked and it is just too hot for them. I think I will unpack my cotton lawn dresses and put away the suits, except for my red suit. It is silk and will always be my favorite suit because of the happy event it brings to mind.
That reminds me, I need to start wearing my pearls. The problem is that they are so very precious to me that i don't want to risk losing them. I was so excited that I didn't realize that there was a matching bracelet in the box. Hmm, maybe I can convince Dar'mate to make me an evening gown to show off my jewelry properly.
But first, I need more Spring dresses. Dar'mate has set aside an entire box of cotton lawns just to make me dresses. The colors are so pretty, if I can just decide what satyle dress that I really want.
Decisions, decisions-I need to look at some more patterns before I decide.
